Claire W. Tucker
Founding President and CEO Emerita

Claire W. Tucker serves as Founding President and CEO Emerita for CapStar Financial Holdings, Inc. After raising more than $88 million in start-up capital, a record for a de novo bank in Tennessee, Claire led the founding of CapStar in July, 2008, now a billion-dollar financial institution.

Claire started her banking career in 1975 at First American National Bank and had advanced to holding the office of president of corporate banking by 1996. When the bank was sold to AmSouth in 1999, she was Senior Executive VP responsible for all commercial banking activities in six southeastern states and New York.

In 2011, Claire was appointed by the Federal Reserve Bank for the Sixth District to a three-year term as chairman of the Sixth Federal Reserve District Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council (CDIAC). Each Federal Reserve District established a CDIAC to systematically include the views of community depository institutions in the policymaking process. The chairs of the 12 Federal Reserve Bank’s CDIACs meet semi-annually with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Board.

Claire is a board member of Ingram Entertainment and has been a member of the executive committee since its founding in 1997. She recently chaired the board of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and has chaired the boards of the Nashville Ballet, Nashville’s Table, St. Luke’s Community House, Tennessee Wesleyan College and others. A graduate of the Leadership Nashville class of 1996, she is a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
